SD media cards may be formatted for storage on the BlackBerry Curve by using the SD Association's free SD card formatting utility. After formatting the SD card, insert the card into the BlackBerry, and allow the device to finish the formatting process by adding default directories and drives to the media card. This last step of the process is automated and occurs when the BlackBerry device finds the new SD card. Formatting the SD media card with the formatting utility and preparing the card for use in the BlackBerry Curve is very simple and requires just a few steps.
